  • Scissors
  • Yarn - varying colors (I chose 5)
  • Crochet Hook

Cut one piece of yarn about 4.5" the same color as the pom pom you want to make. Take one ball of yarn and wrap it around your index and middle fingers about 40 times, not too tight. The more you wrap it the fluffier the yarn ball will be.

Carefully tie the cut piece of yarn in between your index and middle finger around the wrapped yarn, and tie, do not double knot yet. Gently pull this off of your fingers while keeping the knot in place, THEN double knot, securing it tightly.

Cut all ends of the yarn where the loops are until you've cut every loop, and roll the pom pom in your hands to fluff it up. Trim around the edges to make it more of a round shape. Create around 25 of these pom poms (5 per color).

Cut a 10ft piece of yarn in a neutral color. Attach the pom poms to this piece of string using a small crochet hook. Pull the string carefully through the center tie of each pom pom and push the poms to one end, spacing them about 3in apart. Be careful not to pull out pieces in the poms when attaching them to the long string. Leave about 8in of yarn on each end for hanging up.

That's it! Super simple and an easy way to decorate. Don't be afraid to experiment with different colors and textures!
